Music

The music in worship draws from a variety of traditions and cultures and underscores the liturgical themes appropriate to the season and topic. Under the leadership of the Music Director, the music program draws on the musical gifts of members of the congregation, whether it be singing in the choir or small ensembles, playing instruments,, or ringing hand bells. Guest musicians from the surrounding community augment the many musical sounds of the LOUCC congregation. Congregational singing includes music from The New Century Hymnal and Sing! Prayer and Praise, as well as a number of contemporary sources.

LOUCC has a three-octave set of hand bells and a group of devoted ringers who rehearse during Advent and Lent to enhance worship during the seasons of Christmas and Easter. Beginning ringers are always welcome!
