Welcome to LOUCC
We’re so happy you’re here!
Who are we?
We are a faith community of all ages and backgrounds; we know the Body of Christ doesn’t look like one particular kind of body. We value community, lived experiences, authenticity, curiosity, and service. We like to engage in the rituals and mystery of our faith tradition, and we like to laugh at ourselves and some of the very human (imperfect for sure) aspects of being the Beloved Community.
What should I expect when I arrive?
Worship services are usually held in our sanctuary and start at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Most folks wear “business casual” attire, but whether casual or spiffed up, you are welcome as you are. You'll be greeted in the entry area, invited to make a name tag, and given a quick orientation to the space. We are an intergenerational church and children are welcome in worship at all times. If preferred, nursery care is offered for children 5 and under.
The LOUCC sanctuary is wheelchair accessible. We have hearing-assistance devices available and offer large print bulletins for individuals who would like one. Our bathrooms are all gender (everyone shares the same space) and ADA compliant.
What’s worship like?
Services last approximately 60 minutes.
Music is played while people arrive and gather, then we open with a welcome and announcements.
We are invited to center ourselves silently before the service continues with a time of prayer, a hymn, and an opportunity to greet each other with a sign of Christ’s peace.
The reading(s) are shared followed by a message from the speaker of the day.
We respond to the message with music, prayer, and/or communion. The close our service with a final song and a blessing.
After the worship service, there’s a fellowship time with coffee/tea and cookies. You’re welcome to stay and can expect friendly folks eager to meet you.
You can get a better idea of what our services are like on our YouTube channel.
