| Welcome from Pastor |
Welcome to our website. We hope and pray that you'll be interested in also becoming a participant in our life of worship, service, fellowship, outreach, faith development, and some fun as well. As of July 2007, I am newly called as pastor to minister with and to the members and friends of Lake Oswego UCC. It is a great honor to begin to join these good people, and you, in this shared ministry.
Lake Oswego United Church of Christ (LOUCC), an open and affirming congregation with a fully-accessible building, is known for many things:
▪ Our sign which says, “Honoring Diversity,”
▪ Our arms-open-wide welcome and care for one another,
▪ Our commitment to building a community that serves the community.
We define ourselves as a progressive, compassionate, diversity-honoring, and environmentally-conscious church. We are committed to social justice and living what we believe. Most of us came for the openness and stayed for the love!
God is still speaking, the universe is still evolving, and we are still listening, singing, learning, and responding to the needs of the world around us.
I invite you to come and exerience for yourself the ways in which guests and visitors are so quickly invited into this community of faithful service.
Through our website, you will catch a glimpse of who we are and what we do. We are unique as a congregation - as are all UCC churches - but we do also encourage you to visit www.ucc.org as you peruse the internet. This way you might learn more about the United Church of Christ in general.
Still, to really get to know us, you will want to walk through the church doors on a Sunday morning to experience that wherever you are on life’s journey you are welcome here. Please come and listen, pray, sing, and worship with us as we are united by the spirit of the Christ to be a progressive church active in the care of our neighbors and as, with them, we celebrate the goodness of God in all creation.
Faithfully,
Jeff

| Open and Affirming Statement |
We are called to love our brothers and sisters as God loves us, freely and without reservation. Our unconditional love is inclusive of all God's people.
We denounce acts of discrimination and violence against any person. We celebrate the family in all its diverse forms, and affirm all loving and committed relationships.
We welcome all people into our community of faith, whatever age, gender, gender expression, race, sexual orientation, religion, ethnic background, socioeconomic status, or physical/mental abilities. Each person is invited and encouraged to participate in all aspects of our church life and ministry.
As part of the wider church family of the United Church of Christ, we are also formed by the vision present in theUCC's Statement of Faith.
