The Green Team has been doing
environment work since 2005. Following Earth Day 2006, we presented an
educational celebration that included an organic breakfast and the first showing
of our Water, Water Everywhere video, written by Green Team member
Barbara Kelley and filmed by Green Team member Chuck Erkenbeck. Water, Water
Everywhere is now in its third printing, followed by the second video
Easy Being Green, and our third video is currently in production
documenting the creation of a bioswale (a small wetland) we are creating on the
church property to filter rain runoff from the parking lot and roof and prevent
pollutants from entering the water system of streams and rivers. On Earth Day
2008 (April 20th), we are planting the bioswale with wetland plants; all are
invited to come join in the planting.
We work continually to educate our
members, as well as the greater community, to lead more
environmentally-responsible lives. We have invited guest speakers and green
experts Susan Terry of Clackamas County Sustainability and Jeanne Roy,
co-founder of Northwest Earth Institute and Recycling Advocates. We support Tryon Life Community Farm and the Northwest Earth Institute.

healthier, more responsible lives. To view a short segment of this inspirational
video, go to You Tube (www.youtube.com) and
