| List of Blessings | |
| LOUCC
members were recently asked to list the blessings this church has
brought them. Current members and friends listed LOUCC’s: • Extension of unconditional love, acceptance, and a sense of being valued to all (ONA, inclusive language, ADA accessibility, acceptance of multiple understandings of God, varied theological and political perspectives). • Mission opportunities to follow Christ’s example in service in social justice efforts (shelter ministry, refugee resettlement, work to alleviate hunger, attempts to facilitate interfaith understanding). • Sense of being “at home”/part of a community/family of faith that prays for and actively supports each other, offering warm, lasting friendships and “connection” across generations. • Model of compassion, caring, and peace for children and youth who are increasingly surrounded by a culture that seems to devalue these ideals. |

| The History of the Lake Oswego United Church of Christ (founded in 1888) is testament to the power of vision, dedication, and self giving in a church's life. It is not the size of a congregation which is significant but its determination to stay true to its calling and its communal spirit. |
